We got so much snow! It’s beautiful! Yesterday, before it got too cold, we Jake took the kids out to play in it! They had an absolute blast and were out there a good solid hour. Ashelyn is obsessed with sledding. She even loves to crash. It just throws her into a giggle fit. Gideon is much more interested in building snow forts and throwing snowballs. Jake even went for a run on the sled after he had shoveled the driveway. I think he shoveled too soon though because our driveway is completely covered again. Oh well! Here are a couple videos of the kiddos and lots of fun pictures!
Or any chance the can get! My kids loooove their sunglasses!
Ya, they’re ridiculously cute. It’s okay, you can admit it! :o)
The kids and I headed to church. I wish Jake would have been home in time to take pictures with us when we were all dressed up, but he didn’t make it home until about 4 in the afternoon. C’est la vie! (We were running a bit late *surprise, surprise* so I wasn’t very happy looking in these pictures… sorry about that)
Playing with the ornaments on Gramma’s tree. Isn’t Ashelyn’s skirt just about the cutest thing EVER!?
She turned these little beads into a necklace. Which was adorable and of course when we told her so, she was determined to take it off! Dang independent child!
What a cutie pie that boy is! He looks so handsome with his tie & vest. (Side Note: How is it possible that my LITTLE boy is going to be 3 in less than a week?!?! Doesn’t that mean he’s not even a toddler anymore??? I’m sort of freaking out about this…)
Merry Christmas
love
the DoanGang!
Here you are cousin… the Christmas Jammies!
Ya… I made those. I’m pretty awesome. :) I’m actually still finishing up appliquéing a T-shirt to go with Gid man’s little flannel pants. I have to admit I’m pleased as punch with these little jammers. And plus, they showed me that 1.) I can in fact read a pattern. 2.) I can successfully make a button hole when I read my sewing machine’s instruction book, and 3.) I REALLY REALLY love my new sewing machine!
Oh shoot, I never blogged about that! But, I got a sewing machine. It’s awesome and has flowers on it, not all over or anything, but umm, I’ll take a picture! I <3 it!
Oh my word, she’s a busy one. I turn around for 5 seconds and she’s into my purse, the trash, the forbidden cabinet under the sink, or some other place she surely shouldn’t be. And now to top it all off Gideon has taught her that if she can’t reach something, NO BIG DEAL, just pull up a chair and climb right up. So now I can add: sink, junk drawer, silverware drawer, fish tank, and pantry to her list. *sigh*
Tonight (or technically last night now), the kids and I dropped Jake off at the airport for his weekend man trip and then headed to his work Christmas party. I know, how good of a wife am I to go to my husband’s work party without my husband. DANG GOOD I say! Especially since it’s a family party, Meaning I had to wrangle my two crazies by myself. (Only not really, because my awesome Sister In Law and her great kids are probably the best helpers/entertainers around.)
It was good except for some reason everything seemed to be running late. Which is not typical and a little tough with young’uns. BUT, they got to see Santa and sit on his lap and get their first SANTA PRESENTS. The kids got awesome presents as usual and I’ll be sure to take a picture of them with them. (What was I thinking? I didn’t even get Santa pictures! But they had a photog there so maybe I can snag them later.) Gideon told me all the way home about how “Santa gave me this transformer pwesent” and “I lub it so much.” And “Mommy, don’t you lub it?” and “Santa gave Sissy a baby, it’s cute mommy.” Then he “snuggled” up with Megatron and went right to bed. :) haha.
My darlings:(My big helper Katie holding little miss princess, never stops running, “Let me out!” crazy girl!)
Waiting on Santa to call his name! Hanging with Katie AGAIN. (Thanks Katie! We love you!!!!)
Oh! And for Gideon whispering "Happy Christmas Momma" in my ear every night when I tuck him in for bed! Talk about melting my heart into a giant puddle on the spot! I'm a lucky one!
I swear... I've had STUFF. Only now I can't think of it. So that could be a bad sign...
As a quick update, we've been really busy playing with our new vinyl cutter. (Technically it's for the business but you'd be crazy to think I didn't have BIG plans for this thing!) Everything so far has been business related but once things slow down (ya right) I have lots of things planned for around the house and maybe a few Christmas gifts, too.
We're getting geared up for Halloween, too! I think Jake and I are going to head to some thrift stores (Jake's FAVORITE...not!) tonight to try and finish up our costumes and all the muddy grossness (dang rain!) probably means we'll be getting WalMart pumpkins AGAIN. The carvings will be spectacular though! Just you wait!
Other than that, life is pretty normal. My kids are hilarious and growing sooo fast!
OH!!! I finally wrote down some of the words Ashelyn has been saying! She has been trying to talk SO much lately, so more for my sake than yours (because I'm bound to lose a piece of paper) here they are:
-Momma (everyone is Momma when she's tired)
-Daddy
-Baby
-Teef (teeth- She loves brushing her teeth!)
-Peas (Please)
-Bye-Bye
-Hi
-Eye
-Hot (As in, Mom you're HOT! haha, jk!)
-Ear
-Hair
-NO! (She's really good at this one, haha)
-Eat
-Dog (She only get's the 'g' about half the time)
-Dis (This... she let's us know what she wants)
-Uh-Oh
-Owwie
I'm sure there are more, but that's all I've got written down right now. I can't believe how big she is. She carries her baby doll with her everywhere. TRIES to play with Gideon's legos and cars. Has started loving puzzles and is FINALLY letting me read to her.
In other news, Gideon, the child who I thought would never talk, now speaks in full sentences! Hooray! And the best part is he's picked up Jake's vocabulary and says things are "Sick!" "Sweet!" and "Awesome!" which is just hilarious! The other night at dinner he also said, "Mmm! Yummy! Thanks Mommy, it's delicious!" and then stood up on his chair and clapped. And that right there is THE BEST EVER! :o)
He is getting really in to letters and whenever he sees words he tries to spell them. Somehow he only ever remembers the vowels though. So, we'll be watching Sesame Street and DOG will be on tv and here's Gid going, "A, I, E, A, I." And then, "I'm reading!" He's also been counting (he's golden with 1 & 2, then it's hodge-podge) and singing a lot! Man, he's cute.
Okay, I'm done. Pictures coming soon, I promise!
It's a quick one. I just couldn't resist sharing.
