We got so much snow! It’s beautiful! Yesterday, before it got too cold, we Jake took the kids out to play in it! They had an absolute blast and were out there a good solid hour. Ashelyn is obsessed with sledding. She even loves to crash. It just throws her into a giggle fit. Gideon is much more interested in building snow forts and throwing snowballs. Jake even went for a run on the sled after he had shoveled the driveway. I think he shoveled too soon though because our driveway is completely covered again. Oh well! Alright, prepare yourselves….

Friday:
We arrived at about 3:00 NY time. We were appropriately greeted by a man (probably near 70) undressing himself on the subway and trying to entice tips. It was hilarious and disgusting. Also, I was glad we were on the other side from his as far away as possible so we could laugh at a distance.

We got to our hotel, got settled in and took a stroll around our little spot in Midtown East. We found a delicious pizza place with slices as big as your face…

Jake of course had his favorite Pepperoni & Olive. He was soooo excited about the crazy amount of olives on there. Happy day for my man. I had Spinach & Tomato. It was incredible! Loved it.

So then we wandered around a bit more, grabbed some Jamba Juice and basically just got our bearings so we didn’t get lost every 15 minutes. I love the area we stayed in. It was so close to everything, but Jake says next time he wants to stay right on Times Square… crazy man!! Also, fyi… all museums are FREE on Friday nights! So we headed to the Museum of Modern Art (or MoMA) I was in heaven. Only bummer is that we had to pick just one! There was just so much to see!! Here are some pictures of what we saw…
Wowsers!! MoMA has a pretty extensive collections of Monet’s works which I was really really hoping to see. Come to find out they’re doing a Monet exhibit and so all the works are set up for a members only preview right now… which means I didn’t see a single one. :o( Sad day. But sooo much awesomeness anyways!

And after 5 fabulous floors of art, plus the sculpture garden and the walk back to the hotel, we were spent.

Tonight (or technically last night now), the kids and I dropped Jake off at the airport for his weekend man trip and then headed to his work Christmas party. I know, how good of a wife am I to go to my husband’s work party without my husband. DANG GOOD I say! Especially since it’s a family party, Meaning I had to wrangle my two crazies by myself. (Only not really, because my awesome Sister In Law and her great kids are probably the best helpers/entertainers around.)

It was good except for some reason everything seemed to be running late. Which is not typical and a little tough with young’uns. BUT, they got to see Santa and sit on his lap and get their first SANTA PRESENTS. The kids got awesome presents as usual and I’ll be sure to take a picture of them with them. (What was I thinking? I didn’t even get Santa pictures! But they had a photog there so maybe I can snag them later.) Gideon told me all the way home about how “Santa gave me this transformer pwesent” and “I lub it so much.” And “Mommy, don’t you lub it?” and “Santa gave Sissy a baby, it’s cute mommy.” Then he “snuggled” up with Megatron and went right to bed. :) haha.

Jake got his Christmas present a little early because he INSISTED on going Black Friday shopping with me. How on earth was I supposed to get this home (in the same car as him) without him knowing????

Impossible, I say.

So, since he knew about it early… we figured we might as well enjoy it a little early. It rocks HARD!
