Yesterday morning after spending hours practicing on Jake's skateboard, Jared decided to use his money to buy himself his very own board.
This is at Skate Park #1, My brother was showing both Jared and Annie how to stand on it the right way, They both caught on SO fast! (It was crazy Sarah, you have to watch these videos when you get back, cuz I can only post one.)
Anticipation...Jake about to do something cool... I just took the picture too fast! After this we headed to yet ANOTHER skate park and the kids had a blast...
And COMPLETELY wore themselves out. They slept all the way back home. But once we were home the fun started all over again... Check out this video!


Don't worry, Annie is perfectly fine! :o) And she landed it loads of times.

Gid and Ella were SO excited to get to go outside after yesterday's gloomy weather. I made them wait until after lunch so that everything dried out a bit. Ella found this hunk of wood and has been carrying it around with her everywhere. It's her "gun."
Gideon is so fascinated by everything Ella does. He just watches her and then as soon as she moves on to something else he tries to do whatever it was that she was doing. It's cute!
He wouldn't look at me, but I thought this was cute anyways.
And little miss Ella. She's such a sweetie and I just love her polka-dot boots.

I'm glad that they have fun together despite the age difference. When the rest of the kids got home from school and Jake got home from work...that's when the real fun started.... Let's just say the whole time I was praying nothing would happen that would require a trip to the hospital.
This is just one version of the ramp that Jake constructed out of random things he found in the garage. He wanted to skate off of it, the kids were just running and jumping.
Jared loved playing with Jake's board. He's actually riding around fairly well, I just didn't get a picture.
And last but not least....THE GIRLS! Katie, Annie, and Ella. They're so sweet and I thought this picture turned out really cute! So far watching the kids has been a lot of fun, except doing their laundry, haha. Who knew that such little kids could make SO MUCH dirty laundry. It's all done now! :o)

I have always, ALWAYS loved Kansas City... even in high school when I took for granted my small suburban home town I loved to take weekend jaunts to the city with my girl friends. We'd pretend like we were chic and didn't really come from a small farming community, and it was always a blast.
Anyways, I've always been slightly obsessed with interior design and have been blog stalking a lot of cool designers from all over the world... and from one blog I found a link to Design Sponge.

You cannot even begin to imagine my excitement when I found that in their Guides section, they had a guide for KC! I knew that our city was filled with cool places, many of which I had been too, but this just lists so many more! That's right! We're having a girl! We're so excited and just can't wait. Jake's really not sure how to handle a girl, but he loved being able to see the ultra-sound.(Since he didn't get to be there for Gid's.) It made for a great anniversary present for us to find out what we're having!

Today is our 2nd Anniversary. Talk about having lots of exciting times since then! Here's to a whole lot more! Love you sweetie!

The cause of Gideon's grumpies was more teething! Today I noticed two new ones on top and it looks like two more will be poking through on the bottom soon. Poor little guy cutting all those teeth at once...

At least now I'm not constantly worrying that I'm ignoring some undiagnosed sickness.

Pretty pathetic, but that's really my only update for the day...

Other than that I tried everything in my power to be so sidetracked by meaningless things that I didn't manage to accomplish anything productive. I think I succeeded.

I haven't done any Partylite parties this month because of the Easter holiday, house hunting and you know...just life in general, but I had a few people who really wanted to take advantage of this month's guest special.

I don't know about you guys, but I seriously have a problem when it comes to these little delicious candy coated chocolates. I was trying to calculate just how much of them I've eaten since Easter candy first graced store shelves and I think I'm at like 5 bags... NOT KIDDING.

Some of you may say, "Ya, you probably bought that many but you weren't the only one who ate them." No, they happen to be the one candy that my husband has no interest in whatsoever and thinks I'm insane for liking, and I don't like to give Gid candy... So here I sit with a combination of disgust with myself and sadness for the fact that they'll be going away until next year very soon...

Good thing I have one last bag!!

Well, just thought I'd play catch up with our weekend....


On Friday night Jake and I went to see Rent at the Music Hall. The cast was phenomenal and our seats were GREAT! (10 rows back and FREE! Thanks Aunt Brenda.) We had a lot of fun, at felt very umm...cultured afterwards. If you've seen Rent I'm sure you understand, and if you haven't well... I'll explain later. It took a lot of prodding to get Jake to go, but it was worth it in the end.

Saturday, Jake spent the day finishing up some dry wall work and installing electrical plugs.... boy stuff. But I was there as a helping hand. It took longer than I thought it would and unfortunately my list of things to do this weekend didn't even get touched. Oh well, there's always today. I did get to talk to Jade, which was awesome!!!

Yesterday, was a mess. We woke up late for church. None of my skirts were fitting over my pregnant-ness and Jake and Gid were just... well grumpy, I think this rainy gloomy weather is rubbing off on everyone. Gid might be cutting more teeth, though it's hard to tell because all of his front ones are in already. Anyways, I did manage to get to church and teach my lesson. But then, when I went out to the car afterwards... the car wouldn't start. So we jumped it and hurried quickly back up to Hamilton to Jake's Mom & Dad's who are kind enough to let us borrow their car while they're out of town.



The last event of Sunday was when Gid was playing with my cell phone like he always does and managed to call 911. I had just got off the phone with Sarah and thought he had just called her back, so I'm like..."haha, sorry Sarah. Gid called you!" And the operator was like...uhhh, this is 911. So I was laughing hysterically and apologizing for my 15 month old while she gave me a lecture about how ANY cell phone, even those no longer in service can still call 911. And I'm going. Yes, I know I'm sorry.

So yes. That's all, but I'm looking forward to the week ahead...

Well, it seems it wasn't the house for us. We came to them with a very reasonable offer and they somehow countered for more than the asking price... I'm not sure how that works out, so we countered back and it seems they just aren't budging on the price at all. So, c'est la vie and back to square one...

So basically every time I try to get Gideon to play with his Sit 'N Spin, this is what happens... Very Unhappy.
Well, He soon discovered, He could just take the middle out and use it as a race car wheel, going "Vroom Vroom!" while pushing Himself around with his feet.
Then, He decided, maybe he'd put it back where it goes.... And I'm thinking...YAY! He's gonna do it for real...

So I finally gave in and bought these for Gid. I had actually planned on getting him a pair of DC skate shoes, but his feet still aren't quite big enough for the smallest size they come in. Plus, these were $15.00 cheaper! Every boy needs a good pair of Chuck Taylor's.
