My husband is absolutely amazing... and pretty dang romantic for that matter. He made me this bed. Yes, you read that correctly...he MADE this bed, and it's absolutely BEAUTIFUL! He even bought all the awesome throw pillows and what not, and a few of them he picked out fabric and had his Momma make them (the really awesome flowered ones.) My mom got me new brown sheets to match too! Oh ya, and I know it's hard to see but he also built the little bookcase next to the bed... AND the biggest part of the whole thing is that they managed to paint the room and get all of this set up while I was out getting a pedicure and shopping for new baby cousin stuff. Anyways, I leave this morning to my old lame room...and come home to a freshly painted room full of amazing furniture built by my incredible sweetie's own two hands!
He also built this shelf....and picked out all the stuff to put on it. He actually built the entire shelf just because he needed somewhere to put the "family" because he knew I loved it and he also knew I liked these shelves from our IKEA adventure. So yes, he's amazing and I've had the BEST birthday EVER!!!! Even though my stinkin' Dad is out of town! (haha, just makin him feel bad!)
My Momma took me out to get a pedicure this morning for my birthday, and she snapped a picture of my cute toes! Good thing too, since I scuffed it about 5 minutes after the picture was taken! Clutzy me! Oh well, they're still cute!!!
For any of you who have read Breakfast at Tiffany's...or seen the movie for that matter, you should know exactly what I mean...
I woke up this morning with the hopes of having a fantastic birthday-eve. Gideon woke smiling, I had an unusually short list of things to get done and it's only one more day until I find out what all this sneaking around Jacob has been doing is for...well I know it's for my birthday, but that's about all I've figured out. Pretty much I've been husband-less for going on 3 weeks...not a fun thing. But anyways, that's a whole other story... So I get up, eat my yogurt, life is great... until about half way through eating said yogurt Gideon starts crying and I can't figure out why, so I sing, and dance, and play, and read, and sing some more, and make him food, and yada-yada-yada. Despite all my attempts his screaming continues... So jump from about 9 to around 1. I call Jake and I'm sure he thought I was quite the grouch cuz I was just so stressed and tired of only talking to a screaming boy that I had to call SOMEBODY, I didn't care that he was working, didn't care that he was getting off soon...that didn't solve any of my problems! I still hadn't got the laundry done...or got to shower... or done the dishes.... and I really wanted everything done before my actual birthday-day. So all Jake has to say is...let him cry... and I'm thinking to myself "Are you crazy, I've been letting him cry, although against my will, for the last 4 hours!" But I do...I put him in his crib and he cried and cried and cried, while I cleaned and cleaned... and he kept crying until about 10 minutes before Jake got home... and he was just the happiest little boy ever while daddy was home, and then he (meaning Jake now) decides that he and Zach have to go to the store to get stereo equipment for Zach's truck... so I am once again left home with baby. Who starts screaming again as soon as Jake left. So now I hurt everywhere from lugging around a 25 lb kid ALL DAY LONG...I didn't realize how much the typical short naps really help my own muscles rest, even if I'm not getting to snooze like the Gid-a-nator. But,anyways, my sweet sweet momma is so good and has managed to make him happy and let me take a break from the lugging... *sigh* So I'm not making dinner, and that's just that....Jake can eat bologna. :o)

Apparently I passed on being an enormous camera ham to Gideon....
When you're cute...you just know...hahahaha jk!
So, Jake and I are no longer the Sunday School teachers for the 16-18 year olds. We got released on Sunday, and of course I get immediately put into a new calling. But, I'm SO excited about it! I'M THE LAURELS ADVISOR! Which means I still get to teach all the same girls from our class plus a few more. I'm really really happy about it and the girls are excited too, which makes me feel good. The guys in the class are bumming that we won't be teaching anymore though. I hope they get someone good to teach them, because they're a hard bunch to please!! Anyways, Jake doesn't have a new calling yet...so he thinks he's on vacation or something, haha! But the Bishop told him not to get too comfortable because they have something in mind, so we'll see what that is! But yes, I'm just really really excited about being in YW, the girls are so awesome and I think it's going to be a lot of fun. YAY!!
This is the lake house we stayed at..... It was pretty nice, you know, with it's own swim beach, and stained glass windows and 4 car detached garage.... haha, ummm no! Pretty cool house though huh?! Anyways...
We got into Lebanon late late Friday night and then got up early Saturday morning to go to the lake. Dad had rented a boat, so we were all pretty excited to spend some time out in the sun, and tubing. Jake and I had pretty much planned on having a very fussy baby for the day, because what 8 month old would want to wear a life-vest the entire time?! Well, as usual we were amazed by him. He didn't cry once, he loved it!
Here is Zach, Gid, and Jake enjoying some rays.
Hehe, I just thought this was a great picture! I don't know what it was all about, but it looks good!
And last but not least, my little sailor boy! He's so much fun and is just soooo good all the time. We're lucky, thats for dang sure!
Anyways, we had an awesome time on the boat. None of us really got sunburned too bad. Jake of course fried his forehead because he refuses to wear sunblock, but even that went away in a day or two.
