Alright, so I'm sure it's not incredibly safe to let me 11 month old who bites EVERYTHING play with Christmas lights, but you have to admit it's pretty cute. He actually didn't try to chew on them. That would have been the end of this activity. Anyways, It's Gid's first Christmas right before his first birthday, so we figured he needed to help us decorate!
Here's Jake trying to entertain him with an ornament. Too bad it's pink.
See Dad! I just needed the green one!!! He's such a cutie, and he definitely knows it. But what do you do?

So, on the friday after Thanksgiving, Jake and I (and Gid, too.) got up bright and early. Well, not really bright, it was still really dark, but anyways, we got up, and we hit the big sales. We were running late and didn't think we'd be able to get our "big item" BUT WE DID! We got a new camera, finally. It's amazing and we love it and we're so excited that we managed to snag one! It definitely made it worth getting up. So here are some of the first pictures we took. We had Thanksgiving with Jake's family on friday night, here's a few shots from that. They're always so much fun! Alex & Hillary were in town, and I some how managed to get zero pictures of all of them!
This is my scary husband, and this was the better of the two attempts at this picture, haha. I don't really find this attractive of myself either, but hey, what can you do!? It's fun, right!?

Last night while waiting for Jake to get home from school, I took advantage of the fact that Dad was cooking salmon and ate dinner with them. Of course we then watched Dancing With the Stars, and Gid thought he needed to sit in his "Big Boy Chair." He thought he was hot stuff!!
Trying to reach for Boo... He loves to play!
I'm not quite sure what he's putting in his mouth, because I don't remember him having food at this point. He must have just been playing.
And finally, he can't take it anymore, he has to go get Boo!! He's such a mess and was in the funniest mood last night. He was pretty much trying to destroy everything in his path. But, he is back to sleeping through the night, which makes me VERY HAPPY!!!

Alright, I know it's not even technically Thanksgiving yet, but we went to Kearney's "Mayor's Christmas Tree Walk" the other night and Gid had his first Santa picture!!! YAY! It was actually pretty cool what they had set up. The 3rd-5th graders sang WAYYYYY too long, but they gave out free hot cocoa, hot dogs, and cookies. Zach's chamber choir performed just a few songs, but they sounded awesome. I was pretty impressed. Anyhoo, I love the holidays!
Hehehehe..... So, I found some amazing program that can recover deleted photos from your memory card. So I have the majority of the Garth pics now...I just have to try to come up with some way to find the videos, cuz I really want to post one of those. Anyways, this is us waiting in line!!!! Jake got cut off cuz we were taking it of ourselves, but Sarah would be very unhappy if I put the other attempt up.
This is GARTH!!!! He ruled, as I'm sure you can imagine.
This is Garth & Trisha performing Walkaway Joe.... It was amazing, Sarah & I were really surprised to see that Trisha Yearwood wasn't as fat as we thought she was, and we knew pretty much every song she sang... (We could only think of like 2 in the car.) Anyways, she was really great too.
I basically just threw this one in for Jake...check out that ENORMOUS drum set. Ya....insane. I can't even figure out how to play a decent beat on jake's set. I wouldn't know where to begin here. But yes, I'm glad I found a few of my pictures, I'm hoping I can recover some more... YAY FOR GARTH!!

So, last night Sarah, Seth, Jake, & I went to the Garth Brooks concert. It was amazing, we had great seats, two drunk people got in a fight on the way out...we LOVED it. Garth pretty much puts on the best show of any one I've ever seen, hands down. He sang a song acapella with the whole audience, it was crazy-cool. He sang with Trisha Yearwood, and he played for over two hours non-stop. It was seriously awesome AND to top of the entire evening I got some really great pictures!
Well, of course... this morning I get up to upload said photos for exciting new blog entry... Everything seems to be acting perfectly normal, I use picasa, it acquired all 67 files, I name a folder and say upload all, it does it's thing and then goes back to the main picasa screen. At this point the new folder would usually be there, right? That's what I thought....so I've been searching for where the heck these pictures are all day...still haven't found them. Which makes me really mad since picasa did manage to delete them off of my camera. So, I'm pretty sure the computer ate them.
All I have to say is... SPIT 'EM OUT, COMPUTER!

So today when we got back from approving all of the artwork for the LF stuff...yada-yada. Jake of course had to take some skate time to "unwind." Gid just LOVES to watch his daddy. (Isn't this so cute of his little reflection!)
So out he goes to spend time with Daddy!! (I'm kind of obsessed with these K-Swiss's he has on, they're like my favorite part of this pic...weird I know.)
Alex broke his board...right down the middle. Gid of course didn't mind. "I'll just push this part....watch me go!!"
Jake let Alex borrow his old board until he gets a new one...I just thought it was so cute that Gid picked up the socket (is that right?) and tried to work on the board, too. He picks up on so many things!
He's just such a little man....I love him to pieces and cannot believe he is 10 months old! How in the world has time flown by so fast?!
So the Doan family turned the front porch into a circus tent this year, and everyone dressed to fit! There was craziness all around! The boys have decided that next year has to be something scary, so that we can spook out the trick-or-treaters, although, I think quite a few were scared of Seth. (He was the tall man....and if I were a small child I would have been frightened.) Anyways....this is us.....
Here's my little monkey!!! I think this costume pretty much displays his full chunkiness... The boy likes food okay?! haha... I promise once he starts walking/running/skateboarding he'll trim down, I really hope the cheekers stick around though!

I had to get myself with him somehow, so here's the best of my attempts... ya, I know... not so cute, but you get what you get.
