So yesterday, Sarah & Seth brought over stuff to barbecue (after all, it was Memorial Day!) and Sarah insisted that she take some pictures of us. Of course I was thinking... "are you kidding? I look disgusting. I just woke up from a nap... I haven't showered since this morning and it's super humid...my hair is gross." Ya, I basically tried every excuse in the book but she was persistent, and now... I'm grateful because they really turned out pretty cute!
Don't look! haha, sorry for those of you who have no desire to see my huge prego belly, but Gideon just loves to lay on Mommy's tummy and "talk" to his sister. It's about the cutest thing going and I wanted to have some record of it.
As usual Sarah, I'm impressed... even Jacob looks great!
We tried to take the stick away from Gid, but that was pretty much instant melt down, so we'll have to try some of these again later... Such a cute boy. Thanks again Sarah for forcing me to take these... now I'm glad I have them.

This morning Jake, Gid, and I went with his Mom & Dad to Adam-Ondi-Ahman where the VFW members from the area put on a beautiful Memorial Day program and the ward had a big breakfast. It was a really nice change of pace and I'm so glad that we went. Of course, the area is beautiful and the messages that the veterans shared were a wonderful reminder of the gratitude that we owe to all the men and women who have served and are still serving us every day. There was a 21 gun salute and a bugler played Taps, which was honestly one of the most beautiful things I had ever heard. I had only ever heard it played on a trumpet and there is definitely a huge difference.
This has been a great relaxing weekend and we got a lot done. I hope everyone else's was great too! Love you all!
Can somebody please explain to me how gas prices jump 15 cents over night? I give up... once we move into the house, I'm investing in a double stroller and never going anywhere out of walking distance. (Ya, I know... I'd be breaking out the old beast to drive to Target after about a day and a half... ) But let's be honest... this is beyond ridiculous.
So a while back Jake & I bought a screen printer... I have to be honest I was a little skeptical about the whole idea. But it's one of the best things we've done. Initially we bought it so our cost would go down in printing his clothing line. But it's quickly becoming a great way to make some extra cash.
Here are 3 of the 4 gigantic boxes of t-shirts we're printing for the Bart's Electric family day... and these are just the boxes of adult tees... WE STILL HAVE KIDS ONES TO DO!
Just the basic idea of the whole process... it's pretty cool to see it all come together!
WITH THIS FABRIC DESIGNER!!!
His name is Michael Miller and I'm sure all you people who are fabric afficianados are all over this stuff. But let's be honest, I'm craft challenged... But his stuff is giving me some serious motivation! These aren't even my favorites... it was just the best mix of his fabrics I could find. They're seriously SO fun. He has all kinds of cool paisleys and flower prints. (Perfect for a little girl's nursery perhaps?!) You can check out a lot of his newest stuff here. The prices seem to be pretty consistent with any other designer fabric I've checked out which is great too. That designer nursery we were talking about Sarah is starting to sound better and better!
Oh, I guess I should catch every one up.... We bought a house, it's not the one I mentioned in the previous post... because as usual we changed our minds, but we're SO excited about this one and if all goes smoothly we'll close on June 5th. So I think this is probably the only time I'll ever be pregnant and praying the baby doesn't come early!
Anyways, since baby girl will be here soon I've been planning what I want to do with Gid's room. Nat brought over a toddler bed that he can use for now, but I'm thinking in the very near future he's going to need himself one of these FANTASTIC skateboard beds. I love that my husband can build things... Now I don't have to feel guilty that it costs $500 online!

I just had to take a second to thank Laura & Rachel for throwing me a shower this past Saturday! It was so much fun and I really appreciate you guys doing that! I haven't got to take pictures yet of all the great girly stuff I got, but it's awesome! Thanks to all of you who came too! You guys are so great and I'm so excited for this little girl to be here!
As for a few questions I've been getting lately... let me just get those out of the way...
#1. Where is this little girl hiding?
I don't really know... Amazingly I have gained just under 40 lbs. but I think it must have gone entirely to this baby bump and my booty. For those of you who are lucky enough to only gain 25 lbs when you're pregnant... that's not me, but I gained 80 lbs. with Gideon, so I'm really thrilled that I haven't turned into a whale again with baby #2.
#2. What are we going to name her?
The easiest way to answer this one is with a simple "We haven't decided yet." I'm pretty sure at this point we're just going to have to wait until we see her, so I guess you'll all find out when we do!
#3. Have you guys found a house yet?
You have NO idea how much we've been hunting. But we finally think we've found the right house. We're actually going to look at it again this evening with Jake's mom & dad, so I guess we'll see if we change our mind again. But I don't think we will, after all this searching and praying, we feel really good about this house. It's still under construction though and won't be done until the middle of June (ya, that's when the baby is due....INSANE!)
Well, I think that's all... I hope you all had a WONDERFUL Mother's Day. Mine was great. Jake got me season tickets to starlight! (Well he hasn't got to pick them up yet....but I won't let him forget!)

We had an INSANE thunderstorm last night. We just barely got power back on about 10 minutes ago, so of course the first thing I did was get online..
Early last night it was just your typical Missouri storm, the skies were beautiful and it smelled like rain, you know... the good kind of storm. The meteorologists were all saying to go to the basement at that point, but my crazy Dad was out snapping pictures the whole time... They did turn out pretty cool, check them out on my Mom's blog... it never really got that bad though, so I watched some tv and went to bed around 10.
BUT THEN, I was very unpleasantly awoken by something that seemed to be crashing down outside my bedroom window around 2 am. About that time I hear my mom running around upstairs saying "BOYS!!!!!!!! WAKE UP AND GET DOWNSTAIRS!!!!" So then of course I figure out where my pants are (who sleeps in pants when it's hot out? SERIOUSLY!) and Gideon and I stumbled through the pitch black- under construction basement... the whole time only semi-coherent and trying to figure out why none of the lights would come on. (We lost power, you moron!) Fun times. It seems I wasn't the only one with the pants problem though... haha. Anyways, we had to hang out in the theater room for an hour in the middle of the night and couldn't even watch a movie... But all is well now, there are a lot of things that seemed to have "disappeared" from the yard or that were smashed to a million pieces but really no serious damage. We're lucky though, some places down in the city had their roofs ripped off and they're still claiming it wasn't a tornado! I know straight line winds rip off a lot of shingles, but entire roofs?!
I might be crazy, but I still love these storms!

And we certainly did! Everyone pretty much just did whatever they felt like, whether it was scrapbooking like crazy people, reading, or quilting, we all just really enjoyed ourselves. It was so GREAT to get everyone together and the time was definitely too short! It's pretty interesting how crazy things can get after midnight... And that's pretty much all I can say... everything else stays at the lake where we left it! I love you girls and I'm SO glad that we were all able to get together! Let's shoot for an even bigger group next time around! Thanks again for a great time guys, love you and miss you already!
