While OUR backs were turned:
1. Gideon found a sharpie.... dun, dun, dun. In all honesty this is like MY one big fear so they are nowhere to be found upstairs. However, Jake uses them to touch up negatives and what-not for his screen printing hoopla, so they're all over the place around the man-cave. The other night Jake was "watching" Gid while he was working, and that's when he discovered the sharpie. He colored all over Daddy's drum set (Ya, I know...you're thinking what I was thinking...huge, Jake freak out moment??? No, actually he just said...."Not much I can do about it." My jaw hit the floor and then I tripped over it.) then on the table that the screen printer is on, then all over the front of both the washer and dryer. How long did he have said sharpie? I'm estimating a good 5 minutes by the amount of coloring at each location. I tell you....
2. Hung from/yanked on/or otherwise mangled the thing that holds my curtains back and ripped it out of the wall....nice, right? I still have no idea when this happened, to my knowledge he was in his room playing with his newly acquired tool set the whole time. But nonetheless, one second its normal and the next it's dangling...
3. "Did his hair" with the milk leftover in his cereal bowl.
4. Climbed up onto the kitchen table, got an apple out of the fruit bowl and upon discovery was sitting in his high chair as if I had put him there....
5. Got in the pantry and took the broom and dustpan to his room to clean his toys.
6. He has figured out, I'm guessing by a lot of trial and error, how to get Cars to play all by himself. Well, almost. He'll get the tv on, the dvd player on, and is just lucky that Cars never comes out of the DVD player since he watches it so much. Then once the main menu music is playing, I push play for him. So, he's almost there.

Okay, It's official, I have an Etsy shop. There's not a whole lot up yet, I have lots more in the works. But go ahead and go take a looksie and buy stuff... actually you don't have to buy anything, but if you help spread the word that would be fab!!!

So my good buddy Laura, sent this to me via e-mail, I thought it looked fun, so here you have it...

I bought Gid this set of play tools yesterday after having to take away Daddy's tools one too many times. He loves the fact that he has his own now. And seriously, this set came with everything. (Grandpa Ron-You'll be happy to know there are even calipers.) He thinks he's so cool and so big. Last night Jake and I had one of those "Oh No! It's too quiet, where is Gid??" moments only to find him happily hammering away on some of his toys in his room. Best investment ever?? I think yes.
So, I have officially found a "project" that I'm in love with.
I've been spending every spare second I can come up with making these headbands for Ashelyn. I love doing it and am really loving that they're not the same ol'-same ol' ones from Target or Wal-Mart. Jake thinks I should sell them on Etsy. So I thought I'd get some opinions... To etsy or not to etsy???
Just a simple white flower with pearls in the center.

Have you heard about this kid?! Henry Cejudo won gold for the U.S. in freestyle wrestling as the COMPLETE underdog, he finished 31st in the world championships. Of course a lot of the news is littered with the fact that his parents came here as illegal aliens 30 years ago. At this point, I could care less, He's living the American dream.

To Jade & Tim! My adorable cousin and her hubby are getting sealed on October 28th in the Manti temple, just about a month before their little TJ is due. I am SO excited for you!
September 25th can not come fast enough!
Is this seriously the best pic Sports Illustrated could come up with? I was horrified when I saw this on the Today Show this morning. I take back MP being my boyfriend... I'm not into guys in halter tops.
So, while perusing one of my fave blogs that I've been too shy to comment on before... I discovered Mindi is doing a give-a-way that is RIGHT up my alley. Free purse you say? Prada knock-off? and ORANGE?!!? Sign me up! Well her blog is hilarious and she has about 12 million readers and since I was comment #111 I took the opportunity she gave to get double entries by giving her some love here.
So go ahead, go enter...you know you want to!

While My Back Was Turned:
1. Found the crayons and colored all over the coffee table and the ottoman. Luckily, it came right off.
2. Got the dish soap from under the sink and squeezed it all over the floor and into the cleaning supply bucket. (I didn't figure out it was in the bucket for a few days...grabbed the windex and got a nice messy glob on my hand.)
3. "Splashed" the milk in his cereal bowl record distances. Seriously....tiny bowl...seemingly small amount of milk...GIGANTIC mess. It was pretty hilarious though, I really have no idea how he managed to get the milk to fly so far.
4. Peed on the bathroom floor.... I had just given him a bath and he likes to play this new game where when I try to put a diaper on him after bath time he runs around naked laughing hysterically... well, he ran right into the bathroom and peed on the rug. Gross kid.
5. Ate an entire box of Hot Tamales. I don't know how he did this, I seriously thought he was going to have permanent burns on his face, seeing as even after being washed it stayed red for a good 6 hours. I worried about the possibility of horrendous diaper rash, but no problemo it seems. I can't really blame the kid for liking them since they're pretty much my fave.
6. "Gave Ashelyn her bottle." By this I mean, she was crying so he held her bottle upside down over her face and shook, which of course made her more upset. When she's really crying hard he thinks it helps to cover her up with her blanket. So when I got to her and lifted the blanket off of her face, I discovered the formula. Gid came up to me and gave me a hug, pointed at Ashelyn and smiled, like, "See Mom, I helped." He tries... :o)
...He is insane and I love him and I'm sure there have been more of these moments, but these are the most memorable and recent. I'm sure I'll be making this a regular blog feature.

Last night Jake and I went to Starlight with his parents. I don't think we could have had a more beautiful night, hard to believe it's the middle of August. We saw Fiddler on the Roof. It was so nice to have a night out with my hubby. Thanks to my momma for watching the kids, and thanks to my kids for being so good so that I didn't even feel bad about it! :o) It was opening night of the play and unfortunately there were a few sound troubles and the actor who played Tevye was a little different than what we all come to expect, but the show was still great. Thanks Ron & Jenny for joining us for a great evening!
Gideon and Ashelyn both had their well checks yesterday (okay so Gid's was about a month and a half late...cut me some slack okay!) Anyways, they're both perfect, which I knew already. ;o)
(I don't know what this face was... drunk on chocolate milk perhaps?)
At 19 1/2 months Gideon weighs in a 26 lbs 5 oz. and is 32 1/2 inches tall. Both his weight and his height are in the 50th percentile... but his noggin is in the 90th. It's because he's a genius I tell you. :o) Besides that, he's absolutely hilarious and usually up to something mischievous. It's probably bad, but I don't usually stop him from doing things that could be really disastrous because they usually make me crack up laughing. He is busy, busy, busy and 100% boy.
(This is Ashelyn snuggled up with the quilt Aunt Debbie made for her.)
At 2 months (almost...CRAZY!!!) Ashelyn weighs in at a whopping 13 lbs 5 oz. and is 24 inches long. Her weight and height are both in the 95-97th percentile...Her head circumference was up in the same range, haha, my dang monster children. She is so smiley and cooey. She loves to be snuggled and likes you to look in her eyes and talk and sing to her. She is most definitely a Daddy's girl and I love to see Jake with her, it's awesome.
I love my little ones and am thankful for them everyday!

This is what Jake did tonight... brand new LemonFresh shirt now available in two colors. Is my husband cool or what?!
My Mom stopped by to visit for a bit on her way home from work. Ashelyn was having so much fun being the center of attention. She was smiling and cooing the entire time!
Jake's Aunt Debbie sent a quilt all the way from Vermont for Ashelyn and was sweet enough to send one to Gideon, too!
We absolutely love them both but I've only managed to get a picture of Gideon with his. He loves all the bright colors and just sits and stares at it and points to the different squares. Thanks so much Debbie, we love you!!
Sorry about the insanely lame number of posts as of late. I don't really have any excuse besides the fact that I'm exhausted and can't seem to catch up. The past week has been interesting though that's for sure.
So all last week Jake worked super long crazy hours to try and avoid having to work all weekend, too. Well apparently they should have worked all weekend, because the long hours have dragged on into this week as well. I miss my hubby and it makes me whiny when he leaves at 5 am and doesn't get home until 5:30 or 6........
So anyways, we were really looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend since he was so worn out. It started okay, Saturday was my brother's 17th birthday and he had a barbecue so we just hung out there, and still managed to get home before 10 and planned to roll into bed...
YA RIGHT... At about 11, my brother Alex's good friend Caleb (who is 14) calls because he and his mom got in a fight and he got "kicked out" of his house and wanted to sleep on our couch. We said, okay no big deal as long as you tell us what happened and call your Mom... so yada yada yada he does and then some how he's at our house until last night...
I don't even know... some how his mom was okay with it...I talked to her about 87 times over the 3 days...
So there's my story.... and now I'm taking a nap.

To the most obnoxious kid I know!
Love you Zach, thanks for always making us laugh and not thinking about how much you could hurt yourself before your random acts of stupidity.
Oh, and no biggy on that street bike we got for you. ;o)
