This morning Gideon and I played and played! He was giggling and talking away. I put him up on my shoulders and he made the biggest mess of my hair. It was pretty drenched in drool and filled with unknown bits of his morning snack. He's getting to have so much personality and is just so much fun. But, apparently we played too hard because now he's taken what could quite possibly be his longest nap EVER! Which means I got to get everything done I needed to! Yay for a great day!
So, I am not smart. In fact, I'm really really stupid. Saturday around lunch time, I was feeding Gid and he was just about done eating. So I go to get him a drink and the only one of his cups left was this one that he hates because it's too hard to get the juice out of. So I just thought it would work great if I took the little stopper thing out of it....Not the case. Even though that cup had the tiniest holes to drink out of, Gideon managed to fill his tray with it and to fling it all over the walls and the table!
At first he wasn't too happy that he covered himself and everything else with grape juice.

So I read Hill's comment about how sometimes you just have to let them cry and go get yourself ready. Well, since I really needed to shower after last nights game, I decided to just lay Gid in his crib, let him cry, and jump in the shower. I thought for sure when I got out he would have fallen asleep, because I didn't even hurry...I took my time. As soon as I turned off the water I could hear him yelling. So I go in there, give him his pacifier and a kiss and tell him it's nap time. He then pulls himself up on the bars, looks straight at me, gives me the lip and screams. So I pick him up, and walk about two steps, and he's passed out in my arms...lol..funny how things work sometimes, I wish he would have just fallen asleep in my arms to begin with! Would have saved him a lot of tears, poor guy.
Okay, Okay, So...I love the Yankees. I know, it's apparently a travesty to all things baseball. But, I don't really care. They have Jeter, and A. Rod, and that one chinese guy. So, needless to say I wasn't terribly upset, or surprised, to hear that they had won the first 3 games of the series verse our Royals. But, we got tickets to last nights game and Jake assured me that he had never been to a Royals game and seen them lose. I just really thought that this would be the first one....
Boy was I wrong!!!The Royals played great, and I even forgot momentarily to cheer for my boys in pinstripes, because they were totally shut down the entire game! The stadium was completely sold out, which I don't think has happened in like...10 years...before this series. So ya, it was loud, it was hott, and it was a great time. Royals win 7-0!!!!

I don't know what I'm doing wrong today...but Gideon hates me. He doesn't want me to play with him or feed him. He just wants to climb on things....so I thought maybe he'd want to play on his rockin cycle....What was I thinking?! He may kind of look like he's laughing....he's not. He was screaming soooo loud, it was pretty dramatic.
So what fixed it? The camera. As soon as he noticed I was snapping pictures, he posed himself into this adorable little shot. He is seriously too much sometimes. He is pretty cute in his little hurley shorts and etnies though. He's turning out to be a very cute little skater boy. Cute, but grumpy. He's been napping a lot lately so that must mean he's growing again... which is just what I need, more weight to lug around. I'm pretty much a body builder, in case you didn't know!
This is Elliot, the turtle we built at build-a-bear, to be an electrician like Daddy. My poor mother got totally scammed into buying this thing, and not even by me!
DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH THIS THING COST?!?!
It's okay, we're over it now, and Gideon does really like him alot. He cuddles up to him at nap time, it's pretty much adorable!

So, like I said. He thinks he's big stuff. I seriously cannot take my eyes off of him for one millisecond or he's into something. He climbs on everything, he opens cabinets and drawers. He doesn't seem to realize that he's not even 7 months old yet. I figure all I can do is just roll with it. These are the faces I get when I ask, "What are you doing Gid?"
I'm gonna unfold all the laundry, and I'm happy about it!

This one really worries me. He's using one hand to hold on to a cymbal stand that could topple over onto him at any moment. No big deal right?! As you can see, he's not even interested in his toys or book that are on the floor for him to play with safely. That's just not good enough. Jake once told me that he tried to start a fire in his bedroom when he was like 5. I figure that's what I have to look forward to.
So, needless to say, last night I bought those cabinet lock things so I don't turn around to find him playing with the lysol or covering himself in comet.

Gideon and Alex again. We had been having a lot of fun hanging out with Alex during the day, but now he's down visiting Grandpa and Phyllis in Souther Missouri. He's a lot of fun, and he helps me out a lot.
Gid's first real ride on the rockin' motorcycle Grandpa Doan built for him! It's basically the coolest thing EVER. That's the newest pictures I have though. I'm slacking. But I'll jut give a quick update on Gid. He really mastered the crawling thing about a week and a half ago, but he decided last week that since he's figured out crawling, why not just stand up and walk?! If I turn my head for two seconds he's pulled himself up against something (like the laundry basket at this exact moment!!) and scoots around it and tries to walk. This new ability has lead to lots of falls and bonks on the head. I try to keep telling him that he's much too little to start walking. He doesn't seem to understand and despite all the goose eggs he's gotten, he still keeps on pulling himself up on everything. The one that poses the most problem is the washing machine, because once he gets himself standing up against it, there's nothing to hold on to. So, I just have to keep sitting him back down... I'll take pictures of him today as proof and put those up later tonight. He's definitely his father's son....*sigh*
For Jake's 23rd Birthday,(Ya, he's 23...that doesn't even seem right! THAT'S OLD!) a bunch of us went to the Royals game. We didn't all get to sit in the same place, but we still had a really great time! Keep in mind it was like 95 degrees out, so we don't look very attractive.
I'M BACK!!!!
I couldn't take it anymore! So here is a quick little catch-up of what this past month has consisted of! I know that everyone else has posted about all this stuff already, but I'm just way behind, and they're fun, so I couldn't resist!
I don't really know what they're doing here...They were trying to distract all of us because they were cheating TERRIBLY. It's okay, as usual...I owned all. Jake still has never seen me lose at poker...I like to keep it that way. Anyways, it was a lot of fun and we must have listened to 'Party Like A Rockstar' about 14 times in a row...."Ta-ta-ta-totally duuude."I couldn't take it anymore! This is us playing Texas Hold 'Em on the 4th of July. We decided it would make it a lot more fun if we dressed up wacky. I actually looked much weirder in person than I do in the picture because I was covered in bronzer...LOTS of bronzer...and my hair started out much bigger than it fell to by the time we thought to snap a picture. Dimitri was an eskimo, I don't know what Zach was supposed to be but he reminded me of Chuck Norris and Jake was a gangster/ rapper.
Gid, Gid the Cheerio Kid! He was perfectly happy just eating them, Zach thought it would be much more fun to stick them to his forehead. We all had a good laugh about it though!
This is how the canopy/tent/crazy pillar thing that we did turned out at Josh & Amanda's reception. I just thought it was a cool picture.
Hello All!
I've had quite few people worried since I haven't blogged for like 2 weeks, I'm really okay. First I had that nasty bout with the whole dehydration thing that kicked my butt for a good 5 days. And then I've been reorganizing things and cleaning and going to baby check-ups and enjoying outside. It hasn't been as hot this week, so I've sort of been avoiding the computer and the television and decided to spend my free time laying in the hammock reading with Gid instead of blogging. I'm sorry, sorry, sorry and I promise to have more exciting pictures and fun things to blog about soon! Love you all!

I'm pretty sure we found this WAY more exciting than Gid. He could have cared less that there were sparks flying around his head. He didn't even hardly look at the sparklers, he just stared off into space! I'm not quite sure why he didn't have any pants on. I must have been being lazy. He was happy though. It continues to surprise me just how mellow he is. Not a whole lot phases him unless he thinks someone is being mean to him...then he'll wail. But the usual things like really loud booms, things on fire, or falling over don't seem to bug him at all. It's got to be a boy thing.
Anyways, I spent the evening cooped up inside motivating Jake to finish his 47 chapters of homework that were due. The whole homework thing really stresses him out so he had already opted not to go up to his Mom & Dads for dinner and by the time he was done with all of it I literally had to lure him outside with the fact that there was a snake in the window well and that I would give him a popsicle. But, we started a fire and roasted some hotdogs. My Mom & Dad and the boys joined us and we had a really great time. Mom has some much cuter pictures of the evening up on her blog, so you should check it out HERE! For some reason I just wasn't really feeling like taking a bunch of pictures last night.
Some adorable shots of my boys after church. Gideon is so not right. He must have got that from his Dad... :o) Anyways, he thought this hat was the coolest thing. He wore it for a good hour. I don't know why he liked this one and hates the other baseball cap I tried to put on him... Anyways, he's chubby and adorable and Jake was looking very GQ with his beard that he actually trimmed instead of just let grow out of control. I love my boys!
