So, Ron & Jenny and I decided to get Jake some stuff for the ct70 he's been restoring. The order just went through on Wednesday for our stuff, but they had magically appeared on Ron & Jenny's porch by Friday. Well, of course Ron couldn't stand to wait until Jake's birthday because he was eager to see everything too, so he called and asked if we felt like coming up. Of course!!! So, it took lots of convincing Jake that his Mom really really needed those Good N' Plenty's we picked up for her and some other stuff for the reunion. He just didn't think that was worth the drive. But, once we got up there he thought it was well worth the trip! He was so excited and has such a great time working on the motorcycle. It's amazing how great it looks now. You won't get to see yet because I'm going to do a big before and after post when it's all done! But he's getting closer now with new wheels and a new seat!
I've always kind of had this hope that if Gideon is familiar with a skateboard at an early age that he might not fall down and hurt himself quite so many times as he gets older. It's not like I could talk Jake out of riding around with him on his board. At one point, the only way we could get Gid to stop crying was for Jake to hold him while he rode around. He just likes to be moving. Well, I can't ride a skateboard to save my life, so I sometimes try to entertain him when he's fussy by just letting him lay down on the board and pushing him around. He doesn't get quite as excited as when Jake rides with him, but hey, I do what I can!
Here he is thinking he's big! Looks more like a surfer getting ready to stand up.
This is the classic, "are you kidding me mom?! I don't want to take pictures!" face.
And by the time I got done with the camera he was obviously bored with me....*sigh*

Gid had his first Oreo today. As I'm sure you can tell, he loved it. He also ate a lot of cheerios which I'm sure are much better for him, but they just didn't make for nearly as cute of a picture. After he finished his little bit of cookie he then wanted to smear what was on his face into his mouth. He wasn't very happy when I was trying to wash his face. What a waste of good oreo!
Gideon with Grandpa!! Poor Gid is pretty stinking white...he gets it from his momma!
He's been kind of obsessed with his new shoes. He sits like this all the time now. It's like he wants to make sure they're still there. Like, 'Yep, I still have feet!' He's sitting up all by himself and very rarely does he get so excited that he falls over and bonks his head. I can't believe he's going to be 6 months old on friday! Time goes so fast, and he grows and learns even faster!
I just thought this was a classic face. He was trying to reach for my Mom & Dad's little dog, Boo. He was concentrating really hard and sticking out his tongue like Jake does when he's concentrating. But, I didn't snap the camera quick enough to catch it. This one's still cute I think!

Jacob had school this evening, so I hung out with my Mom and Dad until they had to leave for their YM & YW stuff. It started to rain so we thought for sure that Gideon would love to play in it! We took him out for a little while onto the back porch until it started thundering and lightning, then we went in to dry off.
Gideon and Grandma. Singing and dancing in the rain!
This is kind of random cuz we're looking off into space, but the other picture of Gid and I, I have an enormous chunk of something in my teeth....so it doesn't get blogged.(Except I think my Mom put it on hers.) Anyways, I love storms and Gideon didn't seem to mind getting a little wet. He doesn't care about much of anything when he's outside. Fun, Fun, Fun!

This is the first time ever that I have really really hated Picasa! I was uploading these adorable pictures that have been on my camera since before we left for Utah of Gideon playing his little drum while Jake is playing piano. The pictures were so stinking cute and Picasa acted like everything was fine, but then for some reason after they uploaded all but one of them is gone! And they're not on my camera anymore because I told it to safe delete (where it only deletes what you upload). They just disappeared! And I know that said to upload all....ugh...it's not like I can just replace those.... stupid stupid Picasa!
Here's the one that does show up. This isn't even one that I liked. I wanted to put the ones where you could see both Jake and Gid. And where Gid was looking up at Jake watching him play...but those don't exist anymore!

A long time ago, before Gid was even born, right when I found out I was having a boy a mysterious package showed up on our front steps. We open it up to find the most adorable pair of baby Etnies! And come to find out Janeen Hammond had found these online and when she heard we were having a boy, new that our little boy would just have to have a pair of skate shoes. Well, they were a size 2 so we have been waiting and waiting for these to fit Gid! So I thought I would try them today, and they fit!!!! He actually doesn't seem to hate these either. He usually tries to kick his shoes off, but he's been perfectly happy in these. I think they're adorable and Daddy is going to be VERY excited when he gets home from work and sees them! Yay for my little skater boy!
Here is another picture of all the fellas! Uncle Jason got to perform the ceremony. Then it's Josh, the excited and very handsome groom. Jake, Alan, and Ron are looking good as well!
Josh getting picked up by his groomsmen!! Those Doan boys always have a good time!
And FINALLY!!! The beautiful couple! Josh and Amanda are absolutely adorable together and their happiness was just radiating the whole evening. We're so happy and excited for them to start their new life as husband and wife!
This is Jacob cutting a rug with his sister Hillary. She and her little girl Phoebe came out from Texas and it was awesome to get to see them!
I know it's hard to tell, but I did manage to get my husband to dance one dance with me!
Daddy with Gid!! Gid was such a good boy the entire trip. I was really thankful for that. We thought for sure since he had been so good for all the wedding things he would fuss the whole drive home, but he didn't. In fact, he hardly made a peep! He's such a sweet boy!
This is Jake's cousin Isaac, keeping Gid entertained! He was really willing to help out with both Gideon and Phoebe! I really appreciated having my hands free for a little while!

Jake and I just returned yesterday morning from a very loooooooong road trip out to Utah for Josh's wedding. Sarah drove the whole way both directions (what a champ!!) and her and Natalie kept us very entertained! I've been battling this sinus/allergy/cold gross-ness since the morning we left, so I really wasn't much help at anything. We had a lot of fun just hanging out before the wedding, got some great goodies at IKEA, I got to see Jade, and it was all very stress and drama free....which is a very rare thing if you know how life usually is in the Doan gang. I promise, promise, promise I'll convince Sarah to share some real wedding pictures, but until then, here are a few fun shots.... I must have been on too much Dayquil to remember to take a picture of the bride.... soooo sorry!
But...don't those Doan boys look soooo handsome. And if I must say, my Jake might be the shortest...but he definitely has the best hair!!! ;o)
This last one is Jake, Josh, and Alan, with their cousin Isaac. It was the first time I got to meet him. He was really funny, and very nice. I pretty much thought he was the greatest because he always wanted to play with Gideon, which means I actually got to do things. Good times with the fam!
My cousin Kevin married his fiancee Becky on Friday, June 15th. I wish I could have been there, but I thought I'd put up a quick picture of them that my Mom took. It certainly has been a season for weddings! Three weddings in two weeks. I'll have Josh's picture's up soon too, I promise! Anyways, I'm certainly wishing Kevin and Becky lots and lots of happiness as they start their new life together! Congratulations guys!
I completely forgot about these pictures! They're from this past Saturday ( I know...I'm totally slacking!!) Anyways, We finally bought Gideon a baby pool that he can play in. He loves it of course, and he even loves those ugly sunglasses. He just really hates having the sun in his eyes, so they work great for him. He has a great time splashing, and since he's really into texture and feeling everything, He likes to lay over and rub the grass. What a whitey, huh!?! I get more and more obsessed with me little guy everyday. He's just soooo stinkin' cute!! :o) So much fun!
Poor Jake spent his first real Father's Day sick. So, he stayed home from church with Gid and I had to teach our lesson all by myself! It went pretty well. The whole class sang A Poor Wayfaring Man Of Grief, which was pretty incredible. It just goes to show that I need to have more faith in the kids in our class. I didn't think they would want to sing it, so we were just going to read the verses, but they all wanted too. It really brought a unique spirit to the lesson, which was exactly what I was hoping for. And, it took up a lot of time so I didn't feel like I was rambling so much with the lesson! :o)Anyway, Jake still got his Father's Day treat because the Bishop made sure I brought one home to him. Then, we spent a few hours hanging out outside with my family, lounging in the hammock, playing in the grass, and eating burgers.
After that, we headed up to Sarah's to hang out with all of them where we ate more food and lounged around some more! It was a good day, and Jake wasn't feeling quite so puny after it was all said and done!
Oh, I almost forgot!!! Jake and Ron were swinging all the kids in a big blanket and Sarah took this adorable picture of Gid! He's such a mellow baby, we have a lot of fun playing with him!

Gid has always had the desire to be big. He's ALL boy. Today he decided that I couldn't feed him his green beans. I just need to dip the spoon in the jar and he'll chew on it until all the food is off.
I think it probably has something to do with how badly he's teething...Because he quickly became more interested in gnawing on the spoon than actually eating.
Sooooo...I gave him one of those teething cookies!!! They start off really really hard and he somehow manages to turn them into mush....which he then rubs EVERYWHERE! Because, why not make a mess when you're adorable and little and Mom will let you get away with it!
He thought he dropped it....He was really worried! But he didn't, it just got lost in his arm rolls!
Back at it! Soooo Yummy!!!
All done! I thought this picture was really cute. It looks like he's trying to wipe off his mouth. It's really just a fluke because he loooooves to be dirty (unless it's his diaper.) I had to scrub his hands and neck and face. He even managed to get cookie on the back of his head. He's pretty much amazing!
